The story of
family promise OF bryan County
OUR MISSION IS TO HELP HOMELESS AND LOW-INCOME FAMILIES ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE INDEPENDENCE THROUGH A COMMUNITY-BASED RESPONSE.
A nation in which every family has a home, a livelihood and a chance to build a better future.
Helping The Community
We recognize that poverty is a complex problem that requires a multifaceted response. We respond by integrating educational outreach, smart programming, effective policies, and the hands-on work of thousands of volunteers. We provide food, shelter, and support services for homeless families. We provide advice and advocacy for at-risk families to prevent their becoming homeless. And we educate people about poverty and the means to combat it.
Reinforcing our Commitment
Volunteers are the heart of each Family Promise of Bryan County. Our devoted volunteers will help us offer shelter, meals and other assistance to children and their families for about one-third the cost of traditional shelters. Family Promise keeps families together and provides them with a safe, supportive and home-like environment.
Family Promise volunteers do so much more. They become a personal support system to homeless families in the network. They share contacts for jobs and housing, help write resumes and prepare for job interviews, donate clothing and furniture, and subsidize security deposits. These supportive relationships often continue after families leave the network. Because of the involvement and dedication of our volunteers, they will help us provide assistance in guiding our clients to a stable life.
One Step at a Time
We are asking individuals, families and companies to become founding donors to help us continue to assist families in Bryan County to rebuild their lives. Sponsorship levels range from Diamond at $5,000 through to becoming a member of our 297 club or just donate whatever you can afford.
The Network Director for Family Promise of Bryan County said “according to the United States Census Bureau there are an estimated 34,000 residents here in Bryan County so if everybody donated just $3 we would reach a goal of $100,000. We are holding a number of fundraising events to close the gap but we are asking people to step up and make a difference so we can continue to empower families in Bryan County
